Finding a Calling Through Advocacy
Advocacy goes hand in hand with Unisson’s story. When you join Unisson, you become part of a community with a network of families, friends, guardians, and advocates who fight for the rights of people with disability, ensuring they can lead inclusive lives within their own communities, and that no one is left to walk their journey alone.
Artists in Residence
Two of Unisson’s supported independent living clients from the Central Coast region, Mike and Siobhan, recently entered the 'Splash of Colour Art & Photography Exhibition', curated by Options Disability Support.
Tapping for Joy
Recently, James, one of Unisson’s supported independent living clients on the Central Coast, shared with his support worker Sam, that he would like to purchase a tap dancing floor. Sam and James searched the internet, however, they were unable to find anything suitable: there was nothing that James either liked or could afford.
Kate and Ruthy: an unstoppable team
Kate has always had a cheerful and happy disposition, aspiring to become an actress and be in the spotlight. Kate has faced many challenges in her life, however the support provided by Direct Support Professional (DSP) turned friend Ruthy has given Kate the confidence to shine in all that she does.
