Artist from Blue Apple wins exhibition

Several artists from Unisson’s Blue Apple Art Studios at Terrey Hills entered Willoughby City Council's 'Connect, Collaborate, Celebrate' art exhibition.

The exhibition, now in it’s fourth year, showcases the artistic works of people living with disability, people experiencing social isolation, or people at risk of marginalisation.

Celebrating International Day of People with Disability 2022, the competition and exhibition provides a platform for artists of all abilities to promote themselves and expand their creative talent.

This year, Unisson client Alison Hall won first prize for an acrylic on paper painting.

Alison is a long-term client of Unisson, who has been attending our art studios for many years. It is wonderful to see the positive impact of our studios in the community, and it’s great to see Alison’s contributions recognised in such a public way.

The winning entry, titled 'Flitter Flutter', took around 4 weeks to complete.

Alison says, “I like birds and colour. I see lots of birds when I go to Blue Apple (art studios in the bush at Terrey Hills). I also like to watch them from my window at home.”

Part of Alison’s prize includes a solo art exhibition in 2023 at the newly refurbished Dougherty Centre in Chatswood. She will be busy in the coming months working on her collection.

We extend our congratulations to Alison, and to all the other artists who participated in the exhibition.
