Brett Ferguson to participate in 'No Place Like Home' art exhibition

Brett Ferguson, a talented artist who attends Unisson's Paper Arts Studio in Pymble is participating in this year's 'No Place Like Home' art exhibition held by a NSW not-for-profit provider of community housing, Link Housing

The annual exhibition aims to bring awareness to the need for more affordable and appropriate housing, including disability housing, within Australia. It is open to artists of all abilities to showcase and sell their work.

The 'No Place Like Home' theme allows artists to express what a home means to them through a variety of artworks. Brett has created a paper pulp landscape artwork of the South Coast Headlands, titled, 'It Feels Like Home'.

The inspiration for his artwork comes from his twin sister's home town located on the South Coast.

"Brett took photos on a recent visit to his sisters, then in the paper studio did sketches of these and created three different paper pulp paintings over a number of weeks. He finally chose this one for the exhibition" said Juliette Rubensohn, Paper Studio Art Facilitator, Pymble.

Brett has attended the Unisson Paper Studio for a number of years and has created many portrait paintings using paper pulp as the art medium. He's currently working on creating landscape paintings from his numerous images and sketches.

When asked about the inspiration behind his artwork Brett said, "My twin sister lives on the South Coast and I love visiting there. It feels like home. I have made a picture of the South Coast Headlands".
