Who is Lorna Hodgkinson & what is the Lorna Hodgkinson Foundation?

Lorna Hodgkinson was a remarkable Australian of great dedication and vision.  Lorna was the first woman to receive a Doctorate at the prestigious Harvard University, USA. As a teacher herself, Lorna was passionate in her belief that people with an intellectual disability should be supported to lead meaningful lives. Lorna established the Sunshine Institute, which is where Unisson Disability’s story began.

The Lorna Hodgkinson foundation is the parenting body of Unisson Disability. The foundation ensures that we can continue our work establishing and deepening connections with our clients and their families.

Is Unisson an Australian Disability Enterprise (ADE)?

Yes, our NDIS provider number is 4050090458.

Our ADE service – Unisson Works offers supported employment within two ADE services, Pack Works and Ground Works. You can read more about our supported employment service via our Finding & Keeping a Job page.

What is happening with Unisson during COVID-19?

In light of the emergence of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Australia, we want to reassure Unisson Disability clients and families, and the wider public, that we are continually monitoring and adjusting our services with health and safety at the forefront of all our decisions.  

Unisson is adhering to all advice released from the Australian Government, World Health Organisation and NSW health authorities. We have put together a COVID-19 response team to develop and implement comprehensive policies and procedures to minimise the risk of infection to clients and staff.

What is the NDIS?

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a new way of providing support for Australians with a significant and permanent disability, and their families and carers. The scheme will ensure that Australians with disability will have the necessary supports they need to live an ordinary life.

I need to pay an invoice to Unisson, can I do this online?

You sure can! If you would like to pay an invoice to Unisson, navigate over to our Pay My Account page, have a read through the instructions and click on the 'pay my invoice' button to proceed. This will navigate you to a secure online payment form to pay your invoice online. Follow the form prompts and you’ll be done in no time.

What is support coordination?

Support coordination is an NDIS funded service that is designed to help NDIS participants to coordinate the supports in their NDIS plan and get the best out of their NDIS funding. We have a list of helpful Support Coordination FAQs that you can browse through.

What sort of school holiday program activities do you offer?

Depending on the school holiday program location, we offer a variety of different activities including; bowling, movies, ice skating, laser tag, wildlife parks, inflatable world, mini golf, craft, cooking and more.

I’m new to Unisson and a bit lost. Where can I find links to the internal platforms?

Welcome to Unisson! You can log in to our internal HUB to access all the platforms you’ll need. Once logged in, you will see links on the homepage to TimeOnline, BOOM and ProSims.

To access your email account, jump onto the Outlook Desktop app or to the Online Outlook Platform and log in with the credentials shared with you throughout your onboarding process.

I applied for a job at Unisson and I’m hoping to find out how I went.

What are fringe benefit schemes?

Being a Not-For-Profit organisation, we are granted the opportunity to utilise fringe benefit schemes. This means that you can pay for certain expenses before income tax is calculated. So, you pay less tax and get to keep more of your hard-earned wage. You can choose the benefits you want to include with some of the most popular being:
