A new Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) community is coming to Thornleigh on Sydney’s Upper North Shore, with six vacancies across four brand-new, purpose-built homes.

Expected to be ready to move into from November 2026, these thoughtfully designed SDA homes in Thornleigh will offer a choice of shared and individual living for people with Improved Liveability (IL) and High Physical Support (HPS) SDA funding.

Whether you would like to share your home with one other person or have a place entirely your own, there are different options to explore.

Choose the home that suits you

The Thornleigh development will include:

Two 2-bedroom homes
Enjoy your own bedroom and personal space while sharing your home with just one other person. Each home is designed for a maximum of two residents, creating a smaller and more personal shared living environment.

Two private 1-bedroom villas
Prefer a home of your own? These individual villas offer your own bedroom, living areas and private space, with no housemates.

Across the four homes, there will be six SDA vacancies available.

Purpose-built for accessible everyday living

These are beautiful new homes designed with accessibility, comfort and everyday life in mind.

Purpose-built to meet Improved Liveability and High Physical Support SDA design requirements, the homes will provide an accessible environment that can support different routines, preferences and support needs.

Located in Thornleigh, NSW, the homes offer the convenience of an established community while keeping everyday essentials within easy reach.

Residents will have access to local shops, healthcare, public transport, parks and recreational spaces, as well as the wider Hornsby and Upper North Shore community.

Supported Independent Living in Thornleigh

For people who require daily supports, Supported Independent Living (SIL) can be provided alongside SDA housing where it is included in your NDIS plan.

SDA and SIL are different NDIS supports. SDA funds the specialist housing, while SIL funds the supports you may receive in your home.
