We all want to feel seen, heard, and valued for who we are. That’s exactly what Food for Thought: Unfiltered Conversations and Confidence is all about.
This is a free, in-person event designed to bring people with disability, families, carers, and professionals in the disability sector together for a powerful afternoon of real talk, bold ideas, and joyful moments.
Whether you’ve been part of the NDIS for years, are new to the community, or work in the sector supporting others, this event is your invitation to pause, reflect, and reconnect with what truly matters: self-worth, representation, and belonging.

🌟 What’s Happening on the Day
This isn’t your typical sit-down-and-listen event. Food for Thought is a vibrant space for open conversation, where real stories, lived experiences, and heartfelt ideas take centre stage.
Through honest discussion and shared experiences, we’ll explore:
- What confidence really means
- How beauty and identity are defined in disability spaces
- Why representation matters and how we can all play a part
And yes, there’s a glam station and a catwalk moment too because feeling fabulous is part of the experience.
🌟 Meet the voices behind the mic
- Monique Jeremiah – Entrepreneur, model, and advocate for inclusive beauty who is redefining the industry’s standards one step at a time
- Storm Menzies – Fierce makeup artist and disability advocate with a passion for helping others feel good in their skin
- Alicia Melita – Performer, MC, and champion of diversity in the arts, bringing heart and humour to every stage she’s on
Each speaker brings a different perspective, but they all share one thing: a belief in the importance of visibility, self-expression, and unfiltered confidence.
🌈 Why this matters
Events like Food for Thought don’t just start conversations, they build community.
They remind us that:
- Confidence looks different for everyone
- Our voices and stories are powerful
- There is beauty in showing up as your full self
Whether you’re someone with disability navigating everyday life, or a support worker, friend, or ally, this event is a chance to connect in a space that’s safe, welcoming, and joyful.
Let’s stop trying to fit in. Let’s start celebrating what makes us stand out.
