For ten years, Elias has been part of the Unisson community, finding spaces and support to do more of what he loves. Whether he’s focused on a game of basketball or working on his latest artwork (inspired by his hero Batman), Elias shows how the right support can help you feel confident, connected and completely yourself!
You’ll often find Elias at our St Ives Community Hub, where basketball is more than just a game, it’s where he lights up. Ask him what he enjoys most, and he’ll tell you without hesitation: “Basketball, basketball, basketball.” His focus and energy are obvious to anyone witnessing and when asked about his favourite player, he signs the name with a smile: Michael Jordan. It’s a fitting choice, after all, as Michael once said, “Just play. Have fun. Enjoy the game.”
Beyond the court, Elias is also a regular at Blue Apple Art Studios, where his creativity shines through in weekly classes. He’s a lifelong Batman fan and can name every actor who’s ever worn the famous cape on screen. It’s in these moments, sharing his passion for comics or finishing a new piece of art, that you see how meaningful it is to have spaces where his interests are celebrated.
At home, Elias is supported through Unisson’s Supported Independent Living, which gives him the stability and encouragement to keep pursuing the things he loves. Having the right support in place means he can come home to a space that feels comfortable, safe and truly his own.

It’s this foundation that makes it possible for Elias to stay connected to his passions, whether that’s spending time at Blue Apple Art Studios, joining activities at the St Ives Community Hub, or heading out to the basketball court with confidence.
With the right support in place, Elias has the opportunity to follow his passions, build friendships, and live life in a way that feels true to him. Elias is free to be a basketballer and so much more. Most importantly, he’s free to be himself.
