There’s something about standing on the green, lining up the shot, and watching the ball roll just the way you planned. For Claire, every round of putt putt is a chance to focus, have fun, and do her best.
Since joining the Unisson community in 2016 as a Supported Independent Living client, Claire has embraced every opportunity to get out, try new things, and do what she loves, especially when it comes to sports. Golf might be her favourite, but you might also find her shooting hoops or swimming laps. No matter the game, her motto is simple: enjoy it, give it your all, and keep practising.
“I like to win and have fun,” she says with a grin. And when she says she loves golf, she means it.
Sport isn’t the only place where Claire shines. She has a warm smile and a friendly personality that makes people feel instantly at ease. Loyal to her family and friends, she’s always up for a chat, a laugh, or a game with her mates. Her sense of humour is quick, her spirit is welcoming, and she takes pride in everything she does, whether it’s work, play, or simply lending a listening ear.
Outdoors is her happy place. Whether she’s putting under a clear sky or enjoying the fresh air, she likes to explore and learn in her own time. That’s one of the things she values most about the support she receives, the chance to try things for herself, to grow her skills, and to do life her way.
Because for Claire, freedom means being yourself, taking on challenges, and enjoying the little moments. It’s doing things herself and knowing she has the right support behind her when she needs it.
