Free to be a dancer (and Beyonce fan)

Reading Time: 2 minutes

When the music hits and Amy starts to move, you feel it. Her energy is electric, her smile unstoppable, and within seconds, you’re either dancing with her… or wishing you had.

Amy has been part of the Unisson community for almost eight years, residing in Supported Independent Living and building a life that’s unapologetically hers! Full of music, movement, and moments that light her up.

“Dancing makes me feel excited,” she says, glowing.

Give her a Beyoncé beat, a Britney anthem, or a Missy Elliott track, and Amy’s in her zone. She’s not just dancing… she’s performing, radiating joy and confidence with every move. And the best part? She wants everyone around her to feel that same freedom.

Whether she’s putting on an impromptu lounge room show or turning up the volume for a group dance party, Amy’s spirit is magnetic. Dancing is how she expresses herself, how she celebrates life, and how she says, “This is who I am.”

At home, the support Amy receives gives her the safety, comfort, and encouragement to keep doing what she loves. Her space is truly hers, a place where the music’s always ready to play and the dance floor is wherever she decides it is.

Because being free isn’t always about standing still, it’s about moving boldly, dancing fiercely, and living joyfully.

Amy is free to be a dancer.
Free to be a Beyoncé fan.
And always, free to be Amy.
